Scores of Ghanaians, including members and executives of the NPP have gathered at the venue to pay their last respect to the former chairman who died in London on March 19, where he had gone for kidney treatment.
The former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lampty’s mortal remains will be cremated according to his wish .
Jake’s body was laid in state at the Ridge Church Thursday April 21, 2016 between the hours of 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
His burial and thanksgiving service took place Friday at the fore court of the Statehouse where several dignitaries including President Mahama, Former President Rawlings , Nana Akufo- Addo and other public figures including party sympathizers paid their last respects .
The Director of Finance and Administration at the party headquarters , Dr. Charles Dwamena, explained to Atinka News that the late party guru’s mortal remains will be cremated at a private ceremony according to his wish. Jake also wanted an all- white funeral service.
Jake’s body was first taken to the NPP Party headquarters for some minutes before being moved to the fore court of the State House. The burial service will be private but the NPP says it will fully participate in it.
