Chief Executive Officer of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation, Samuel Anim Addo, has bemoaned an allegation pedaling against the Captain of the Black Stars.
According to Anim, it is beyond his comprehension as to why some people would attach all-time leading goal scorer for Ghana to politics.
It has been alleged that Gyan is a financier of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“Only God knows where this issue is rolling from. We do not know the basis which prompted the host to formulate such allegations,” Gyan's Manager lamented.
He added, “It is a very complicated issue but we are also conducting our investigation.”
Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan took to his Twitter handle to issue his denial.
Gyan, who is currently in China playing for Shangahi SIPG expressed his disappointment:
“Say no to irresponsible journalism, the owners/managers of Montie FM must call Mugabe to order.. I'm a footballer and not a politician. I serve GH not politicians nor parties, I don't fund politics, there's more joy in charity and philanthropy n my works are my evidence. Journalism is a noble profession, say no to irresponsible Journalism... hate can't win.. get a life n God will bless u..”
